Tyler’s Story
Tyler Decker was born and raised in Carlsbad, California.
From the beginning Tyler had a love for the ocean. At the young age of 3, Tyler learned how to surf, and since then he never stopped. Tyler graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Communications, but if you ask him, he graduated with a degree in surfing. After college, Tyler moved back to Carlsbad and worked in a restaurant with all of his best friends.
In July of 2020, at the age of 26, Tyler was diagnosed with ALS.
Since diagnosis, Tyler has focused on curing himself. He does daily workouts, goes to physical therapy, does infrared sauna sessions, and many other things. Even though this disease has taken away his ability to surf, it has not taken away his amazing spirit. To know Tyler is to love Tyler.
